The blue velvet is so rich in person—way deeper than the photos suggested. I keep it by the couch and the cushion lid is firm enough to double as a spare seat when we have friends over, plus it swallows a surprising amount of clutter.

The tufted lid is firmer than I expected, which makes it feel sturdy enough to actually sit on while I pull on my boots. It holds a surprising amount of clutter inside for such a compact square, though the 15.7-inch height means it reads a bit small next to a full-size bench.
